Rebecca Eskreis is a director, writer and producer whose work has screened at numerous international festivals, including SXSW, TIFF, SIFF, Woodstock, deadCenter, Savannah, Munich, Stockholm and Thessaloniki.
She received the Sandra Adair/Empowering a Billion Women Grant for promising female filmmakers from the Austin Film Society, and was selected for the Austin Film Society’s Artist Intensive, hosted by Richard Linklater, in 2017. Select credits include: WHAT BREAKS THE ICE (director, writer, producer), starring Sofia Hublitz, Madelyn Cline, Joel Allen and Lukas Gage, which was released in theaters and on streaming in 2021; CLEARMIND, (director), starring Rebecca Creskoff, Rob Benedict and Kadeem Hardison, now available on Amazon Prime and Tubi; and, INFINITY BABY (producer), starring Kieran Culkin, Martin Starr, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, which premiered at SXSW in 2017 and is streaming on Amazon Prime. She is currently attached to direct CLEO 2.0, a romantic comedy, in spring 2024.
Mentored by late Jonathan Demme, Eskreis previously worked as a producer at his company, Clinica Estetico, following stints at 72 Productions, Red Hour Films and Di Novi Pictures, where she was the Creative Executive. Eskreis holds a BA, Magna Cum Laude, from Barnard College at Columbia University, and an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College.
